This is Amazing Grace

New year...new home, new school, new chance to get back into God's word.  The past few years we've done year long Bible reading plans, usually a chapter each day.  If you've followed along from the beginning, we've completely read through the Old Testament once and the New Testament twice.  Last year, I tried to introduce something new...but I couldn't keep up with it in addition to everything else.  However, I didn't forget about it...and now I'm going back into my plan for this year.  Are you ready for it.....I know I am (finally).....(insert drum roll and musical dramatic effect here - daaaa, daaaa, DAAAAAAA)

Scripture Memorization

I'm going back to the book "The Joshua Code" (you may have noticed the gigantic link over to your right).  You're welcome.  Yes, that's the book!  You can click on the little arrow pointing down (next to the word Scribd) download the entire PDF version of the book for free...and it's snowing outside today so now you don't even need to go to the bookstore to buy it.  Like I said - you're welcome!  All the work has been done for you...

Which brings me to the verse for this week.  Yep - this week.  Not every day...just one verse each week.  One verse to meditate on, study, research, pray on...letting the Word soak into our minds and our hearts so it can become our strength.  If you'd like to join me on this journey, you can go into the book and look up the last two verses to get caught up (you probably already know them).  But I'm jumping into this week, so here we go!
"For by grace you have been saved through faith,
and that is not of yourselves;
it is the gift of God."
Ephesians 2:8

God is telling us "You're welcome" too.  It's all been done for us!  We've been singing a song in church the past couple of weeks called "This is Amazing Grace".  Here's the chorus (sing along if you know it)...
This is amazing grace
This is unfailing love
That you would take my place
That you would bear my cross
You'd lay down your life
That I would be set free
Jesus I sing for - all that you've done for me

Grace:  Getting what we do not deserve.  Amazing Grace.

  1. I had to add a different link for the book. Apparently something changed with the Scribd link, because it's no longer offered free there. Sorry!
